Used it reliably for years until today when it would not connect to a site I connected to last month, throwing:
SSL/TLS error -0, SSL error - 1, error:00000001:lib(0):func(0):reason(1)
SSL Connection not established.
Core FTP not able to connect - Windows 10

do you have the full log? Many servers have switched from SSL to TLS exclusively. You may need a newer build for TLS 1.2
