Directory file list limitation?

I have one directory on the server where the file list is no longer being displayed, all the other directories are fine. Double-clicking on it I get '150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list', then after about 40 secs I get '451 Transfer aborted. Broken pipe', 'LIST command failed', and 'Error loading directory...'. My computer reports the local directory (which should be a copy of the server) as having 4665 objects totalling 94.9MB. I can display the folder in Google Chrome with an FTP connection. Is there a limitation with Core FTP LE version 2.1?

After several days it is now working normally again. Ho hum.
