Poor transfer rate (SSH/SFTP)

I'm using Core Ftp between to local computers. And I'm only able to get 300KB/s over a ssh session.
In another program I tried(from www.ssh.com), I was able to get 1,2MB/s
Is this a bug/feature in the lite version?
I use ver. 1.2 build 1144

Also tried to fiddel with the Max send/receive in the properties field, without any luck.

Install a more recent version over your existing version. The version you are using is from 2003.
