One issue was that my PC's date got set tot he future. However that doesn't explain why files that hadn't been updated are still getting copied. Repeatedly.

Command line copying too many files when -ON -OG are used
I use Coreftp to do my offsite backups. I have a Buffalo Drive sitting at my in-laws' house. Nightly I use the a series of commands to backup important (to me) directories to the remote Buffalo Drive. The basic command looks like (normally on one long line): C:"\Program Files\CoreFTP\coreftp.ex...

User error
Gee it's been a long time, but I finally was able to play around with this. I found my problem and perhaps my mistake will help others. It I typed the coreftp command into a cmd window, the time substitutions worked fine. However when I'd use the commands in a .bat file all I'd get was the from the ...

Command Line --exclude option
I'm a big user of the command line mode of operation. I'd love to have an --exclude with syntax like rsync. That way I move an entire tree but exlude say a temp directory.
Note that I'd like it to be like rsync in another way. rsync allows for mutliple --exclude strings in the same command.

Ecrypt files names too...
I upload my files to a offsite storage solution and use the encryption feature. I'd love the option to set up a profile that jumbles or encrypts the files names as seen by the system or by standard client, but when viewed and browsed by the correct CoreFTP site profile, the files and directories app...

From my command line:

I've had good luck with larger files
Granted I'm not using a virtual PC, but frequently upload 400MB-1GB files without a problem. At least without a problem that I pin on CoreFTP. My aDSL upload speed is limited so a 1GB file takes a while. Since CoreFTP (an FTP limitation I believe) can't restart a transfer in the middle, any problems...

Chris and Andre, I forwarded a Directory Info to support@coreftp.com for an OpenVMS system. It includes a few cases that Andre's listing doesn't show that can impact parsing the text. If the file name is long, then the rest of the data follows on the next line. If the file size is large, the columns...

The GUI seems to offer only "Process Queue" and "Pause Queue" Pause queue stops all activity immediately. I'd like to suggest there be a "Pause After" type option to finish transferring the file(s) in progress, but to not start any new files. I'd also be wonderful, but ...

Multi settings in GUI and in command line
I'd got to thinking that it'd be nice to transfer multiple files from the queue at a time. Fortunately Chris is ahead of me on this one. If my case I'm transferring to one host so I did drilled into the Site Manager>pick-a-site>Advanced>Connections. On that window in the "Connection Types"...

Andre, I've been using CoreFTP with OpenVMS for over a year...and I'd never noticed the date issue. But you're correct! I've duplicated it. Allow Up arrow to "My Computer"
I'd love it if the GUI for browsing the local files (Window) allowed the up arrow to work to the "My Computer" and perhaps even the "Desktop" level. I don't like using the separate "Directory Tree" window to change drives.

Since a Registration ID is supposed to accompany E-mail support, it would be very convenient if I could "Copy" from the "Help About" screen so that I could "Paste" it to the E-mail subject.

Command line "exclude" list
I'd proposed a -exclude <filename> where the file is a list of file specifications to exclude from transfer. This would work well with -recurse. One directory tree could be specified to be FTPed, but the exclude list could be lines like: .TMP excludes all files with the string .TMP in them /cache/ e...

To get this much I must use Legacy
CP,
The output above is the actual directory output layout. I E-mailed it to you as well.
If I use either of the two OpenVMS options, the GUI doesn't present filenames at all. If I use Legacy, I get filenames with an asterisk behind it.

OpenVMS v8.2 TCPIP 5.6 ECO 1 (and TCPIP 5.5 ECO 1) and SFTP

All SYNCs are relative...
I'd rate CoreFTP's SYNCing abilities some where between a 4 and an 8 (on a 1-10 scale) depending on what you're trying to do. If you're trying to be sure a handful of files stay up to date, then the documentation will tell you how to schedule that through the GUI. That's the high-end with a rating o...

I experienced simliar.
If you hadn't said that you had other FTP clients upload at the 100KB/Second I'd have said that you were hitting the limit of your aDSL line. I peaked out at 45-48KB/Second, but 45-48 KileBytes is in the neighboorhood of 450-600 Kilobits/second of a most aDSL lines.
